Jet Carrying US Defense Secretary Required to Touch Down in UK Because of Crack in Windshield

A jet ferrying the US defense secretary was forced to make an emergency landing in the UK on Wednesday following a fracture was discovered in the plane's windshield, according to an announcement which verified that all passengers were secure.

"The plane landed in accordance with standard protocol and all individuals on the flight, among them Secretary Hegseth, is safe," a press officer stated in a online announcement.

He was traveling back from a short visit to the Belgian capital when the incident occurred.

This incident is not the initial instance that a US military aircraft ferrying a high-ranking official has encountered mechanical issues.

Earlier this year, a US Air Force plane transporting Secretary of State Marco Rubio to the German city of Munich was compelled to return to Washington DC after encountering a mechanical problem.
