FC Barcelona Set to Play Inaugural Fixture at Upgraded Camp Nou over the weekend

Barça revealed they are set to host at the partially upgraded Camp Nou on Saturday. Athletic Bilbao will visit the Basque side in domestic competition two and a half years since relocating for construction to commence.

“Returning home was our dream. Finally, it’s happening. We are back at Spotify Camp Nou.”

Not all seats will be available but 45,401 spectators will be allowed to watch as per the current authorization. When completed, the stadium’s capacity will reach over 104,000 attendees, increasing from the former 99,000. The club said finished work included a renovated tunnel for players along with upgraded changing facilities.

Stadium Testing

The club conducted a public practice at the Camp Nou in early November. Officials stated approval is being pursued from European football’s governing body to play their next home Champions League game versus the German side in December at Camp Nou. Their recent games have been held at Estadio Olímpic Lluís Companys.
